Threads 4 Thought:

Organic tees meant to make you think

We were super excited recently to discover the thought provoking t-shirt line, Threads For Thought. Pairing fresh retro graphics with statements inspired by the environment, Africa and world conflict, the tees are aimed to encourage "discussion about critical issues in today's world" while still being super cute - which they totally are.

The current men's and women's collections are made from 100% organic cotton, though the brand intends to branch out into blends of organic cotton and recycled polyester next season. The label also plans to launch a full collection for Spring '09.

Keeping in step with its social mission, the lifestyle brand donates 2% of annual sales to the Natural Resources Defense Council and the International Rescue Committee.

"We choose both of these organizations because, in my opinion, they are the most effective in terms of broad environmental work," says founder Eric Fleet. Threads For Thought is the only apparel company that has the legal right to use the NRDC and IRC logos on its products.

Three styles, such as the cheeky "Blondes Not Bombs" and Brunettes Not Fighter Jets" are currently available here.
