We've long been fans of Lulu Frost, stocking her collection of necklaces and bracelets cleverly made from vintage liquor tags, steel-cut shoe buckles and other fun antique castaways. So her recent union with designer du jour Chris Benz was right up our alley. The collection, which consists of multi-strand bracelets and necklaces of citrus-hued vintage and Rwandan beads woven into gold vermeil chains, was developed to complement Benz's spring collection of brightly colored chiffon mini-dresses and tops. Rwandan refugees make the intricately designed Rwandan beads from carefully selected recycled newspapers and magazines. But that's not even the best part: The line also supports Women for Women, an international organization that offers financial aid and emotional support to women survivors of war.
"The wonderful aspect of this collection is that we were able to help support these women as they strive to carve out financial freedom in a difficult time of war torn conditions," says Lulu Frost founder and designer, Lisa Salzer.
