The folks at Renegrade Handmade took over McCarren Park Pool in Brooklyn, NY on June 14-15 for the fourth annual Renegade Craft Fair. Of the roughly 200 vendors, more and more crafters are giving a nod to the eco trend. The event, which brings together crafters from all over the country and holds similar fairs in Chicago, San Francisco and Austin, was dominated by organic cotton tote bags and tees, soy candles and repurposed vintage-inspired jewelry.
Some of our faves included local designer Annabuilt, whose one-of-a-kind recycled metal earrings are a Kaight staple, Reiter8's recycled sail bags, the rockabilly-inspired sweaters and dresses made from reclaimed vintage fabrics by Bossa Nova Baby, charming tees and totes in organic cotton by Jezebel and eco-conscious wood rings by Simply Wood Rings. We also fell in love with everything by Brooklyn designer Dear Birthday, a Brooklyn-based designer that makes adorable western-style shirts and sweet dresses from reclaimed fabrics and vintage textiles.
